This week’s leg workout was a killer. Again the feeling of squats has evolved since the previous squat workout. I used a weight belt for the first time because Michal gave me one for Christmas. I asked him to sign it to make it more special. I felt a bit cheesy about that, but then he then told me how he had all the stuff his old trainer gave him stored away too.
Over the break I gained a lot of muscle and for the first time since I’ve been training, I gained 2 pounds of fat instead of losing some. This is thanks to a relaxed diet over the break. I have the nearly the least amount of bodyfat I’ve had in a year but the muscle is changing my body shape and I’m feeling hugely fat. None of my pants are fitting well. So today I bought my first pair of Carhartt pants because I now have the body (specifically, the butt) to fit them and I was hoping they’re made to fit bigger guys in general. Yes, I love that I now get to put myself in that category. I was a bit horrified that the waist size is a whopping 36 since my jeans are 33. My legs are getting bigger, but they still seem like normal size legs to me. I’m having a hard time telling anymore what’s big and what’s small. I’m wearing and XXL button down shirt and if I hunch my shoulders it’s tight. Anyway, I tried the Carhartt’s in a 34 waist and they were just way to small everywhere, it wasn’t a waist issue. I talked to Michal about this and he said that pants are basically out for him now. He has some jeans but to fit over his legs, the waist is too big so they’re not super comfortable. Then he has some custom tailored dress pants, but obviously he’s not going to wear those very often. There are plenty of guys much bigger than I am that have plenty of pants. However, it’s clear that if I want to continue to fit in pants of a normal nature, the body fat’s going to have to go down.
Today I got the credit card bill from hell. Car insurance and the Prague ticket and various other junkahol. Ouch is all I have to say, time to transfer some money.
What’s hot, you ask? Well, old 80’s rock is hot! Right now I’m very much enjoying this classic!
