Kody helped me put together a new desk today. I bought it on Sunday and just got around to putting it together. I was using an old Costco folding table, I know, how tacky. I had been using it for years and just not gotten around to replacing it. The plastic top was starting to sag and it was difficult to find a place where my iMac would stand straight.
I went to a few furniture stores and realized I really don’t like big office desks. I think desks these days are the SUVs of furniture. They make these gigantic desks that must weight 500 pounds and cost a thousand dollars. So after exploring my options I decided to go to Ikea, I know, how tacky. But for cheap and easy desks they are really nice looking and very cheap. My whole desk was $49.99. It’s basically a table, but it looks nice. But the best part was getting to use my Makita™ drill to screw on the legs. I felt so capable and butch, and it only took a couple of minutes.
It’s a little bigger than my old desk and kinda awkward in the current location, but I’ll probably get used to it. And if not, it’s as light as a feather so I’ll just move it somewhere else.

What a great desk! I think I’ll get the same one for myself.

Come on – that desk is as light as a feather? I know you have been working out, but really – a feather?
Matt
Well not literally a feather, but it is shockingly light. It must be composed of nanotubes or something!

We actually have an Ikea desk in the office that is also very light. Congrats!
