But Mike Huckabee is the Real Douchebag.

Wednesday, December 10th 7:55pm Matt

Oh… my… god…

So I’m watching The Daily Show today and I watch the interview with John Stewart and Mike Huckabee. I watch what I believe is the whole interview, pause the TiVo, write the last blog post, and then do a whole bunch of other stuff. This whole time the TiVo is paused waiting for me to return.

It’s dinner time, I feed Kody, make some food for myself, and sit down and un-pause the TiVo to hear, “We’ll be right back with more Mike Huckabee.” Uh-oh. I just know something is going to happen. Skip-skip-skip through the commercial and lo and behold, they turn the discussion to gay marriage. Well, I don’t have to tell you what happens.

I want to make some things clear:

1. While John pushed you pretty hard Mike, he gave in to not calling people against gay marriage homophobes when you said they were not. Well, the people against gay marriage are homophobes and so are you.

2. We are going to win. You know that. And when we do we are going to shove it in your face so hard you are never going to forget it. This is the real deal.

3. We’re at the point where gay people, and especially me, are keeping score. And I guarantee we will make you pay for this. We will remember forever. And while we may mellow a little when this is all over and you “change your mind” and say gay marriage is good, we will never let you forget this day. Whenever you speak, we’ll be there. Whenever you pretend to care about people, we’ll be there. It’s over for you. Not yet, but soon.

Wow… gay vendetta? I’m the last one to be a homophobe but I do have to say… get a life or go to Canada… people are just sick of all the whining.

Being upset about not having rights and then expressing that is not whining. Being upset at people who want to keep you down, is not whining. Trying to change things for the better, fighting for freedom and equality for everyone is what America is all about. And I am a proud American.

But if it’s bothering you, why don’t you move to Canada? Because we’re going to keep “whining”, if not me, then everyone else, and I would hate for that to be a bother to you.

Gays can get married there, so there’s probably a lot less “whining” about it. It will be more comfortable for you.

Bob,

Are people more sick of what they consider whining or are they more sick of discrimination? If it’s the latter, lots of people would assume you would be out there ending that instead. The national data actually show that most people are more sick of intolerance.

And why do the Google ads on the side alternate between ads for Christian moms and douches? I think that’s uncalled for!

I think it’s good to hear people complain that we are whining. That means they can’t just ignore us anymore. The more people complain we are whining the more we are doing it right. What douchebags.
