I was thinking last night that this is the first move I’ve made that really felt like it was for me. Previously I have moved because I needed to move. This was also the most ridiculously difficult move I have ever had. I had the movers come over to do all the lifting, but I could barely walk by the time I got moved in. I had been going up and down stairs for so long that I think I just wore myself out completely. Rather than relive the gory details, I’ll just say that it was very very hard physically and mentally to make this move.
Having said that, I love it here. The things I left behind were high ceilings and a little more open floor plan. What I got in return was everything else. The washer and dryer are bigger and quieter. The hardwood floors and rugs are awesome. The fireplace has a really nice mantle. The freezer is bigger and the fridge has a better layout. The stove is more modern, and while electric is one of the ones that heats instantly. I have two bathrooms instead of one. I have granite in the kitchen and bathrooms. I have the second bedroom. The living room area is actually larger and it will take me some time to best figure out how to make use of it. All the doors and cupboards are nicer.
The view is great, even the movers commented on the “million dollar” view. Now that’s a little bit of an exaggeration, but it is a really nice view. You’d be hard pressed to find a better view without being on a natural lake. The patio is bigger and I even have a bit of a lawn. In addition to the lake, I can also see the glow of the pool at night which is very nice. And Kody and I just went out for our first pee and poo that didn’t require stairs. (He did the peeing and pooing.) It was so easy and fast! Oh, and the mailbox is also closer.
In some ways, I feel I’m making a bigger deal of this than it is. But this is a really nice place! Even though most of the stuff is still in boxes, it already feels like home.

HURRAH! You’re moved! It sounds like such a lovely place for you and Kody and I’ll bet he appreciates no stairs just like you do. Kody’s b.d. card is in the mail!
