Flipping Out Season 3, Jeff Lewis, Ryan Brown

I just watched the Flipping Out Season 3 reunion show. It was interesting because it was a lot more about Jeff Lewis and Ryan Brown than I would have thought. I wasn’t sure if it was real, because Ryan kept talking about it being weeks since they had talked, but Andy and Jeff were talking like it had been months. However, if it were fake, he probably wouldn’t have made that mistake or they would have cut it out. Also, I just don’t think they’re that good at acting, are they?

So, even if it means I end up looking like an idiot, I’m going to talk about this assuming it’s real. Jeff and Ryan both have their issues, and their issues are causing a lot of this. But when you take out the issues there’s something strange going on. Ryan is acting very cold, and he’s behaving as so many liars in my life have also behaved. He’s not admitting to doing anything wrong, but it seems clear at the very least he was trying to take advantage of the show to get more business. He kind of admits that, but it seems like he doesn’t want to give anything up because he knows it’s a slippery slope.

He also seems to want to be done with Jeff. I think there might also be a little jealousy issue with his husband as well. Especially in gay relationships, this can show up in the oddest ways, even if there’s no chance of infidelity. Ryan’s husband could simply be jealous that Ryan is having all these fights with Jeff. But after seeing Ryan and what little we’ve seen of his husband, they both seem really cold.

They don’t seem like they’re sad to see the relationship go. They’re not doing everything they can to save it, even if they don’t apologize for something they didn’t do. They are pushing that relationship out of their lives.

Let’s even say that hypothetically Ryan is fed up with Jeff’s issues. That would be reasonable. But if that were the case, Ryan would have a whole different demeanor. He would be saying things like, “I really like Jeff most of the time but I’m just so tired of his issues. I feel like I can’t do it anymore.”

Ryan is always smiling a sort of evil smile at inappropriate times. I see what Jeff is saying about watching the episodes and knowing Ryan is lying. It’s true. He just looks and acts like a sneaky liar.

Now it may be that all in all Ryan didn’t actually get that much business from his attempts, but I agree with Jeff, he was definitely attempting something. I’ve learned the hard way that we’ll probably never learn what really happened from Ryan. Liars are liars, and you just never get the whole story.

I agree with you about Ryan there.

I can see a lot of Jeff in me. It’s easy for Jeff to be superficial and, at times, a bit cruel; however, that’s simply because there’s a 15 foot wall between Jeff and everyone around him (with exceptions of Zoila and Jenni). It takes a lot of work and a lot of time to get through that wall. What Ryan did was shatter Jeff’s core.

That is unforgivable.

It will take Jeff years, if not decades to recover from this one. Ryan knows that. As mean as Jeff may have come off from time to time, he does NOT deserve this.

Bless Jeff’s soul for not having smashed his face in.

I am so glad to see an analysis of this. I was so disturbed by what I saw- I think you are right and it’s sad that people aka Ryan can’t act like an adult. I guess LA can scramble your brain. On to Million Dollar Listing!
