Now that we’re all poor and jobless (some of us just went more out of our way to get there) we all have one thing in common. We all love blogs. And what do we love the most? When our friends have lots of them!

Why do I have so many blogs? Well, I realized I had a lot of opinions, well more like extremely accurate knowledge, on many topics. So the things I had enough opinions about to support a blog, I moved over to a new blog. This allows people who don’t care about dachshunds to read about design. And people who don’t care about design can read about technology. And people who only care about me can choose between all of them, or just this blog. NatalieTootie will become a more personal blog.

Both of these blogs are just babies, and one doesn’t even have any clothes on at the time of this writing.

So first off, we have sd sync. This is the blog all about technology. I love it. I love to talk about it. I love to watch it. That’s right, I like to watch.

sd sync

Next, we have Designoplasty. This is a blog about design, the business of web design, and the more technical side of design such as programming. I just wrote a post about version control software.

Designoplasty

Where sd sync is macro, Designoplasty is micro. Where sd sync is about other people’s business, Designoplasty is about my business. If sd sync is Donald Trump, Designoplasty is Martha Stewart.

I feel like now that I’ve quit my regular job, I have more to do than ever before. It’s because I workout every day, do a short hike with the dog every day (at least an hour), have started cooking almost all of my meals along with switching to a more natural diet, and just generally have more activities. And then from time to time I actually work. I’m exhausted every day. I’m going to have to figure out to make this work a little better, but at least my life is full. One thing about working out, it does make you tired, I can see how parents who force their kids into sports may at times be doing them a disservice.

Update: You may be asking yourself, how do you have time to post such elaborate blog posts? I don’t. But I feel like the information just has to get out if I go too long without posting. Weird.

I also have a barbecue I need to finish putting together. I’ve barely started. I can’t wait.

Today we went to Kelsey Creek Park. This is our second time there, but the park itself isn’t a great walk. What’s cool is going into the woods behind the park. The trails we went on today went up a ton of stairs and is quite a workout. Then you go over on a trail near the top of the hill and come back down a long windy trail. The whole hill is filled with streams and little boardwalk bridges. Very fun. We were both exhausted.

Kody has lost both of his bottom canines. He’s having trouble tearing apart his toys and now just nibbles on them. Kibble seems to be a challenge for him so he is especially hungry for his lunch, which is cooked by me and soft. Flex has been at the gym every day so he gets plenty of exercise playing. He’s asleep right now on the couch.

I’m really not a fan of QuickBooks. It’s really quite bad. I mean, it’s bad in ways that shock me. For the search engines: QuickBooks sucks. So last night I found a new program made only for the Mac called Billings. It’s much better and creates beautiful invoices. It has all the hallmarks of a Mac-only application: looks nice, easy to use, focused, creates great output. I think I may return QuickBooks and just use Numbers (Apple’s spreadsheet application) to track all the other stuff. I spent all last night re-entering data and don’t want to have to go through that again.

Last night I also had a difficult time activating my business credit card. They wanted my business’s birthday and I informed them there was no such thing. Luckily he gave me the month which after a while allowed me to guess at what they thought my business’s birthday might be. They also wanted my business’s social security number. Again, a hint allowed me to figure out what that meant. Crisis!

I just watched the special on the British Monarchy. It’s fascinating. The Americans in the special come off as so… American. I won’t mention names but some of us keep flying to Europe and taking fun pictures. I’m envious.

I’m putting a lot more tags on my posts now. Ted recommended the Simple Tags plugin for WordPress and I like it. It’s actually sponsored now by Google, which is odd since it doesn’t work with their blogging system.
