Apparently Citibank hosted a conference call yesterday about the Employee Free Choice Act during which some of the participants of the call expressed negative opinions of the bill. Bank of America also hosted a conference call LAST OCTOBER where opions were expressed against EFCA. They have audio of Bernie Marcus, co-founder of Home Depot expressing his opinions forcefully including swearing. Yeah, that’s what real people do when they feel passionately about something. Rachel points out snarkily that these calls are paid for by our tax dollars.

OK, here’s the deal.

These are conference calls. Big fucking deal. Are banks not allowed to have conference calls anymore because they are partially publicly owned?

These are opinions. Are banks now not allowed to have opinions that differ from the democrats or Rachel Maddow now that they’re partially publicly owned?

Once again, Rachel Maddow is acting like a stupid liberal. Apparently unions are supposed to be able to walk into any business they want, at any time they want, whether the employees want them or not. Not only can we do nothing about it, we’re not even allowed to speak about it.

I’m watching an interview now with Sam Stein from the Huffington Post, and they haven’t mentioned one way in which having these calls would be illegal. Rachel Maddow is suggesting that Citigroup, a different division, is downgrading stocks in an effort to create fear of this bill. Rachel and her guest admit that there is nothing illegal about this. But Rachel suggests there should be.

Really Rachel? You want to legislate people’s opinions now? You want to limit their free speech? Really? I seriously can’t believe how stupid you are being right now.
