A group of 15 to 20 democratic moderates in the senate are forming a loose coalition to focus on deficit reduction and fiscal responsibility.

Rachel Maddow is very upset about this, because how dare anyone have a dissenting opinion. Rachel has showed us tonight that everyone has to agree with her or she gets very upset. She’s now making fun of the whole concept of fiscal responsibility.

This doesn’t mean these people will be voting with the republicans, although Rachel is trying to scare us into thinking that. It doesn’t mean they’re going to hold up democratic legislation. It just means they are coming together to help push their moderate purpose into that democratic legislation.

We saw what happened when the republicans didn’t have any moderation. Do we want that to happen to the democrats? Apparently Rachel thinks that it’s a good idea for the democrats to be as extreme and one sided as the republicans. Luckily, some people feel differently. And those people will keep recent democratic converts from switching back to the other side.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) democrats will introduce legislation for the Employee Free Choice Act, or EFCA. This would essentially make it easier for employees to form unions. Right now employers require employees to hold a secret ballot election to form a union. This act would allow the employees to determine the process by which they form a union whether it be secret ballot or a raise of hands or whatever.

I’ll tell you my opinion on this. If you’re in a job that either requires you to join a union or makes you want to join a union, study up if you need to, and find another job. If your employer doesn’t respect you he will find a way to screw you over one way or another. Remember, your employer is in control.

Now there are cases where I like unions, where they protect workers who would otherwise be very much taken advantage of. But I would say unions are rarely the answer rather than commonly the answer. And I would definitely say that in every case unions are corrupt and in most cases stop representing the employees’ best interest.

Another great quote from Nancy Pelosi on the republicans, “They [the republicans] came out very poorly in this. But bless their hearts, they vote for what they believe in, and they do not believe in a new direction for America. They are committed to the path that we were on that got us here in the first place.”

Nice, that’s brilliant politics. Bless their hearts, indeed.

By the way, I have no idea what that is.” He also says that Obama didn’t talk about jobs last night. Um, that’s mostly what he talked about. Then he says he hopes Obama will leave the town hall meeting and go talk to the people. What? Yes, Obama, leave the town hall meetings, filled with people, and take some time out to talk to, um, the people. Stop talking to the people when you should be talking to the people! Connie Mack is an idiot.

The truth is, when republicans are in power they spend a make government larger, when democrats are in power they want to make government smaller. We’ve seen this before.

Her basic statement was “I sure wish we could to something but we’re powerless and this the way Washington works.” When asked about a purely stimulative item being taken out of the bill by a republican senator who was never going to vote for it anyway, Barbara basically said the rest of us, that is the citizens of the United States, just don’t understand how the Senate works.

Well Barbara Boxer, if we regular people are never going to understand why the Senate does absolutely stupid things, then you’ll have to forgive us when we just plain give up on you. Because that’s what we’re doing. Barbara Boxer, you are pathetic and useless.

I just finished watching Rachel Maddow interview Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska who is a democrat. I’ll get right to the point, this man is an idiot who should be fired immediately.

Basically he negotiated to take a bunch of stimulative items out of the stimulus bill to gain Republican support. Now if he just admitted that, it would be one thing. However Rachel kept bringing up things he had dropped out of the bill that were clearly stimulative, such as money for building schools, money for firefighters, and money for food stamps, which is the most stimulative item we know of because it all gets spent on stuff.

After she would ask him about each of these things he would double talk and try to switch the topic in the worst, most obvious way. When she asked him about money dropped for building schools, he claimed that the government should not mandate school programs like “no child left behind” or “special education” (yes, he did) because then they wouldn’t back it up with funding. But what she was talking about was money that was all funding and no mandate. He literally wasn’t making any sense, and the frown on Rachel’s face was hilarious. Her face said, “You sir, are a total retard.” I guess he should be thankful for special education after all.

If you are a constituent of Ben Nelson please replace him with another democrat in the next election. He’s an idiot.

I’m just about to start watching Rachel Maddow. But for the last week she’s been heavily covering discussion and the negotiation of the stimulus bill. What I’ve learned is that the members of congress are pathetic.

I don’t want these people, Democrats or Republicans, deciding how my tax dollars are spent. It looks like it’s just going to be a big expensive useless bill. I want economists to decide what to do. Politicians know almost nothing about economics, but they’re the ones making the decisions, and it shows.

I hate to just throw this out there, but I have completely lost faith in our government. It’s just ridiculous. I don’t know what we should do next, but I do know this, I want the smartest people for a topic making the decisions about that topic. No more politicians.

Yes, not a terribly productive post, but this is not something we can negotiate our way out of. Our government is fundamentally broken, and it’s only going to get worse. Just wait and see and try to enjoy the ride.
